Im thinking of having septorhinoplasty for my breathing difficulties

Q. Im thinking of having septorhinoplasty for my breathing difficulties. my main concern is the shape it will leave my nose and if it will make the breatyhing issue worse. Is it common to have complications for this type of surgery?,

 

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, actually a septorhinoplasty often helps your breathing as the septum itself can cause blockage of the nasal passages. I think it would be worthwhile discussing your concerns fully with your surgeon at your consultation. They will be able to assess the inside of your nose and the nasal passages and give you an opinion as to whether surgery would alter your breathing pattern.
